These second graders’ are just getting the hang of their A-B-C’s, adding and subtracting, acclimating themselves in social settings, and having fun which is exactly what they should be doing.  Their career or vocational aspirations are based on their role models and what they may know about their relatives’ or friends’ careers.

The fine group of students below are 8th graders.  They are progressing well in their studies, and before they know it, they will have to start deciding what type of work they want to do in their life.

Surprisingly, 2nd graders are frequently more apt to tell you their career aspirations than 8th graders.  But within two years, 8th graders will often have to make some declarations on a career or vocational path which can impact their life.

The following year, those planning on going to college will be looking where they want to go and making a final decision.  Those contemplating a vocational career will also be narrowing down the field of possibilities.

One of YoumaX’s services is to provide students with a list and description of hundreds of career and vocational paths for them to research potential interests so they can make the right choice in time to head in the right direction when they leave high school.  Making the wrong decision wastes time and money and can even affect someone’s ultimate career satisfaction and success.
